I'm So Scared

I have Issues

I'm 12 years old and your test told me I need serious help. I don't want to tell my parents because I'm scared they will worry.

They are divorced and I used to have troubles with that. I don't want them to worry that it's because of them. I always fight with my brother. He is 15. I scream and yell at him. Sometimes I hit and kick him.

I can't help it. Only one of my friends knows because me knowing is so recent. A little too recent. She has been trying to help me through it but I don't really think it's helping. I'm only angry at my brother though. No one else!

I just want counseling without my parents knowing until I work through this problem. Ok, I know what you're gonna say. You can't do it unless your parents help you. But I don't want them to worry.

I'm so scared. I don't want to hurt anyone.

Response from Dr. DeFoore

Hello Haley, and thanks for telling your story here. You sound like a very bright young person. I will try to help you.

It's good that you want to deal with your anger, and don't want to hurt anyone. That's because you're a good person. It's that goodness inside that will heal your anger.

I suggest that you do all of the exercises described on this FAQ page. You can do all of this on your own, as you requested. You're not hurting anyone here, so not to worry.

I want you to consider that you have good reason for your anger, and doing these exercises will help you figure out what those reasons are.

I hope this help, Haley. Believe in the good person that you know you are inside.

My very best to you,

Dr. DeFoore
