Facing Your Shadow
What you don't face within yourself, you will see in the world around you.
You know those people who push your buttons the most? There's a reason for that.
- Your shadow contains all you don't like about yourself, or have never learned to accept
as part of your humanness. And of course, for most of us, that includes our anger...the least acceptable part of all.
- Your brilliant mind tries to help you with this by projecting these unclaimed shadow elements into the world around you, looking for some kind of resolution.
- When you work with this mindfully, taking full responsibility for your emotions and biases, it will liberate you from a tremendous amount of anger and frustration.
- Like many things, it's easier said than done. But leaving it alone and continuing to "shadow box" with yourself in your relationships is much harder!
- Read and learn about how to claim and integrate your shadow in the book Anger Among Angels.
When you face and integrate your shadow...and your anger, it becomes an ally, and you are no longer at war with yourself.
Think of it this way...
Every part of you has value. Facing your shadow means finding the value in every aspect of your being, including your anger.
