Rise Above Your Thoughts
Left on their own, your thoughts will often be governed by your ego and your primitive survival brain.
When you make the simple but powerful effort to observe your own thoughts, you shift to your higher brain functions and activate your authentic awareness.
- Metacognition is considered the highest form of intelligence, because it gives us a chance to move from the reactive mode into the creative mode.
- You're a good person with a good heart, but all of us have the capacity to slip into petty, angry, vengeful thoughts.
- One of the best ways to learn to observe your own thoughts is to journal them. That way they are out there on the page where you can see them, not just rattling around blindly in your head.
- This automatically gives you access to a higher level of intelligence, more empathy and compassion and better decision making ability.
The practice of Goodfinding will help you think about your thinking and direct your thoughts to all that is good,
right, and working in your life and in the world around you.
Think of it this way...
Don't believe everything you think. Self-awareness gives you access to your wisdom and sets you free to choose.
