Lead With Your Kind Mind & Smart Heart

You have good reason to be angry when you're angry. But you want to be smart in how you express it, so that you make your life better, not worse.

If you let your negative mind dominate, it will cause you to focus on blaming others for your anger, which will get you nowhere. Others are responsible for their behavior, but only you are responsible for your anger.

How do you lead with your kind mind and smart heart?:

  • When you're upset, your mind will get busy to solve the problem. Its first point of focus will be outside yourself, looking at what caused your reaction, and who's to blame.

  • Simply nudge your mind in the direction of what you want, instead of what you don't want. Something bad has happened, which caused you to feel angry and upset. What do you want, what would you like to happen going forward?

  • Begin journaling about and focusing on what you want, and take specific actions to move in that direction.

  • You will have to consistently redirect your mind away from the external causes of your anger toward the solutions and preferences you choose.

  • Your mind thinks it's helping with the "badfinding" focus of looking at the problem, but it's not. Your Goodfinding focus will keep you on track toward the solutions you need, in order to reactivate your good, loving heart.

Think of it this way...

Your mind has a default "badfinding" focus, so it's your job to consistently practice Goodfinding so that you are using your smart heart and kind mind.
