Tailgating Road Rager
by Deborah
(Bedford, TX)
I was driving in the far right lane when this man in a big pickup truck came barreling up behind me. He was so close to me that I couldn't even see his bumper.
I was always taught to tap your brakes to signal the driver to back off and if that doesn't work to slow down until they pass you. This guy just wouldn't get the hint. I even waved for him to go around and he still didn't. I started slowing down even more. There was no reason he couldn't go around.
I suppose now that I could have moved over to the left, but it isn't normal to move left to let someone pass you. Well, after a few miles, he took an exit that happened to paralleled the freeway for a little ways. He was so enraged that he rolled down his window and threw his cup of chewing tobacco spit and hit my car.
I just smiled and waved "bye-bye" to him.
