Rage Crazy

I was dating this guy who seemed to have it all together. He was sweet, charming, made great money, and handsome. We had gone on a couple of dates and were starting to get serious about one another. He was a perfect man. That was until one day we were driving to an amusement park for our company picnic.

Everything was going great. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were going to have a blast riding all the rides and socializing with our co-workers. That was until we got into an argument about one of the guys we worked with. He was shouting and his entire face was red.

In the middle of our fight this poor young girl cut him off without using a blinker. He got so mad he ripped the unopened soda can I was holding out of my hand, pulled up next to the girl's car, and started screaming at her that she was stupid.

He then threw the unopened soda at her car. Lucky for her she swerved and the can missed her. He was way out of control and he thought it was funny. Needless to say that was our last date.

Response from Dr. DeFoore

Good for you, Celeste! It is surprising how many people would have "given him another chance," often to their deepest regret. What you saw is a pattern, and you were smart enough to know that and get out while the getting was good!

Getting Out
by: Rose Waddell

You are so smart. My first husband had horrible rage attacks. I stayed with him until the children were grown, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have left him right after our second child was born. I'm so glad that you got out. It usually only gets worse if you stay.
