It Seems Like I Have Wrong Feelings

Every time I try and explain to my mum how I feel and why I'm angry. But when I do try my mum seems to get angry at me. It seems however I feel is wrong.

Response from Dr. DeFoore

Hello Leah, and thanks for telling your story here. Everything you feel makes sense, even though you don't understand. Feelings can't be wrong--the only problem comes from how you respond to them.

For example, writing on this web site is a good way to respond to your feelings. Your feelings are there for a reason, and I will try to help you figure out what that reason is.

This might take a while, but if you stick with it, I think you'll start to understand where your feelings are coming from and what you need to do about them. Do the three journaling processes described on this page daily. This will help you understand your feelings and the story behind them. You don't have to share this with anyone, this is just for you.

Believe in yourself and everything you feel, Leah. You are a good person, and you are worthy of a good life.

Watch this great video, and imagine that she's singing to you.

My very best to you,

Dr. DeFoore
