I've found a very useful tool when rage threatens to overcome me. Many years ago I read about a practice of meditation which calls upon one to contemplate the soles of ones feet. During times of stress or irritation, one is supposed to direct their attention to the soles of the feet, drawing in calming energy through envisioned "roots" going deep into Mother Earth. This helps take all that energy that flies around your head when you're upset and settles it at the feet where it can be held "down". Sounds like new age mumbo-jumbo, perhaps, but I have used this method and it works remarkably well.

Great stuff, Loni! This is called "grounding" in the framework of Bio-Energetics, and is a highly effective anger management technique. I'm glad it works so well for you!
