He's Changed, Not For The Better

by Suzy
(Illinois)

I have been with my partner for 5 years. He has angry outbursts. They are becoming more and more frequent.

Our wedding is 4months away. I don't want to marry him anymore. He makes me feel sad. Nothing is the same anymore.

He has ruined vacation, Christmas and now Valentine's day.

It's over and I'm not sure how to move on. I loved him but I hate his behavior.

Response from Dr. DeFoore

Hello Suzy, and thanks for telling your story here. You are smart to end this relationship. His behavior is sending you a message, and you're smart and healthy enough to get the message. His behavior is saying, "I have big problems. Get away. Don't marry me." Congratulations to you for understanding the message of his actions.

Take a look at our FAQ page, and you will get the advice you need for letting go and moving on.

The bottom line is to take care of yourself, and only be with people who respect you all of the time.

My very best to you,

Dr. DeFoore
