I agree completely. I can say without a doubt that all abusers were once the abused. This however reminds me of the story of the abused dog who has backed himself in the corner. He is backed up into the corner, sneering, growling, maybe even wildly slobbering, with the look of intense fear, teeth bared, ready to bite what ever gets near enough to bite. Sure, I know why the dog is in the corner and as unfair and disheartening as it may be, I am not going to put my hand anywhere near its mouth. It would take a very special person to get to the dog and not be bitten or even killed. If you are not the special person, God help you if you get too close.
