Anger Towards Nothing

by Anonymous

I am only 13, and I am having serious emotional anger, and I don't know why. Every little thing my mom does pisses me off, then I cry about it, then I get pissed again. For instance, earlier today, she threw away a dried up rose that meant a lot to me, and she didn't even care.
She just said that it was unnecessary. I started to get really mad and then kept thinking about all the things she has done in the past that pissed me off.

Then from there I just kept getting angrier and angrier. Then I started to cry because I can take it anymore. I tried to get rid of my anger by biting my arm, but it didn't work. I don't know what to do.

Response from Dr. DeFoore

Hello, and thanks for telling your story here. You have good reasons for your anger, even though you don't know what they are. If you follow all of the recommendations on this FAQ page, you will begin to see where your anger comes from, and understand yourself better.

You are a good person, and that's why your anger bothers you so much. Think of your anger as a temporarily sick part of yourself, and if you do what I'm recommending (above), your anger will get well and you will feel much better.

Believe in yourself and the goodness in your heart. That is who you really are.

My very best to you,

Dr. DeFoore
