What's Love Got To Do With It?
Well, the answer to that question is, basically, everything! Here's why:
- Believe it or not, most anger comes from love. Keep reading to find out how that works.
- When you love someone, you become vulnerable to them. You can be more hurt by someone you love than anyone else.
- Because of that vulnerability, you are (maybe unconsciously) more afraid, anxious and/or sensitive in those relationships.
- Wherever you are the most anxious and sensitive, that's where you're the most likely to get angry. This is why domestic violence calls are the most dangerous calls a police officer can make.
- Expressing your love takes you back to who and how you truly are inside. It' good for you and it heals your relationships.
I think you can see what I'm talking about here. Most of the stories I get from visitors on this site have to do with love relationships gone bad. So, if you're not going to just stop loving (which I do not recommend), then you need to figure out how to express love in healthy ways, and that includes loving yourself!
Now let's look at the solutions to the problem!
How To Heal Anger With Love
If a lot of anger starts with love, then it follows that the healing of anger would be to get back to the love it all started with. For example, nobody ever gets married with a plan to fight.
Here's a step by step process you can follow to heal your anger with love (and this will also help when you're trying to help with someone else's anger):
- The most important part of your love life is your relationship with yourself. Make sure you have that part in good order--you can read this web page and/or get this audio CD/download, to create a positive, loving relationship with yourself.
- Next, learn about what you're bringing to your relationships and how to create healthy ones, with Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples
if you're married, and Keeping the Love You Find: A Personal Guide if you're a single person.
- If the anger in your relationship is out of control, and you need help fast, then learn anger management techniques and how to forgive.
- It will also help you to learn about Expectations In Marriage and Sacred Roles In Marriage, which will give you lots of useful information, guidance and techniques for creating lasting love in an anger free relationship.
- If you just want to become more loving in your heart right now, by shifting your mental focus to what's good, right and working in your life and your world, read the Goodfinding newsletters, and check out the Goodfinding audio CD/download program.
Use these resources, and you will be fully invested in the healing process of moving from anger back to love. It's not easy, but it's well worth the journey!
Love is the most powerful emotion of all. Love is the healer. Love is who you are, and what you want most is to love and be loved.
Begin this daily journaling process to help you shift your focus in a positive direction, which will help you to reconnect with the love in your good heart.
